Know Yourself
The most important factor in this entire concept – even perhaps in just living your life – is to know yourself! Before any form of personal growth or self-improvement can take place, you must know yourself.
You need to know your strengths and weaknesses, your likes and dislikes… your fears. What do you want to change? What do you need to change? Why do you want or need to change? There are so many questions you should already have the answers to.
How does one go about learning themselves? If you are not sure, take the time to find out. Study and observe yourself. Get to know who you are. There are many things, situations, and challenges that can help define who you are. Unfortunately, pain can serve as a great teacher. The loss of a loved one or the breakup of a long relationship are some examples. I once heard someone say, ”If it hurts, you can learn from it.” How you react or respond to the problems and challenges can prove to be a true indication of who you are.
We are constantly bombarded with things that test who we are, which presents opportunities for us to learn more about ourselves. Being mindful or aware of these events and how we respond to them gives us the chance to become more intimate with who we are.
Once you can truly be honest with yourself about yourself, then growth and change can begin. This is important to SPIFE because knowing yourself will allow for an accurate assessment of your state levels and better means of making the necessary adjustments for SPIFE optimization.
